Bodyweight Strength Workout
Strength training is so important, especially for women. There are SO many benefits including increased bone density, improved posture, enhanced mood, injury & pain reduction (when done correctly), and more.
But you don’t need to be lifting a barbell over your head in order to do strength training. Sure, lifting weights can be a great way to do it, but it’s not right for everyone. Bodyweight exercises are easy to learn and free to do. You don’t need a gym membership or ANY equipment to do the movements in this workout. This workout should get your heart rate up and build strength.
I’ve included videos of each movement, some of which have modifications. For example, if you are not yet able to do a full plank with good form, then you can start with your knees on the ground and slowly progress to full plank if that’s a movement that works for your body.
25-20-15-10-5
(25 of each, 20 of each, etc.)
Pushups (modification in video)
Tabata Plank
Do plank (modification in video) for 20 seconds, then take 10 seconds rest, 20 on, 10 off, etc. until you get to 4 minutes.
Either set a timer, or play this song to keep track for you! There’s lots of different songs on YouTube if you just search Tabata Songs.
Let me know how it goes for you!
