And my why probably isn’t as predictable as you’d think.
I’ve struggled with health issues for years, namely Celiac and psoriasis. But that’s not the main reason I decided to take the leap and become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Certified Personal Trainer. Sure, my physical health is a big part of my story and how I got here today. But my true why has to do with discovering what it means to REALLY live well. Because if you’ve ever chased physical health in hopes of finally attaining joy and freedom, you know that’s not how it works. And in my own case, I had to do a total overhaul on my mindset.
I won’t get into all the details, but suffice it to say that I’m a perfectionist in all areas. With each season of life, I find something new to put my entire being into. Growing up, it was playing sports. When I started teaching, it was having the most Pinterest-y classroom ever. When I got married, it was being a super cool wife… and so on.
So when I started getting into the holistic health world, this was just another area that I thought would fulfill me if I excelled in it. And while it was extremely beneficial to change my habits, it eventually just became another area upon which I could fixate my idealism. But through a ton of prayer, podcasts, reading, and mindset work, I slowly developed a totally new approach to health. And I’m constantly still working on this.
Which brings me back to my why.
Because of what I’ve experienced, I can now help other women get out of the cycle of guilt, shame, and perfectionism while also pursuing health. If you’re a woman in today’s world, you’re likely overwhelmed and exhausted. I want to help you renew your body and mind so you can wholeheartedly pursue your passions and reclaim your joy! While nutrition and fitness are an excellent tool to get started, there is SO much more to health #notyouraveragenutritionist.
Right now, take inventory of what matters most to you. Is it important that you get healthy? Or that you live a full life, present with those you love and impacting them positively?
I believe that both are possible, which is why I am thrilled to introduce you to Well from Within.
